D-Day left me flabbergasted, says WW2 veteran

On the 80th anniversary of D-Day, there are now only about six veterans from Wales still alive.

Bill Davies, 101, from Porthcawl, Bridgend county, served with the RAF, landing at Arromanches in Normandy.

The beach was spared the brunt of the D-Day fighting, which meant the port he was building could proceed as quickly as possible.

"When I got there, I was flabbergasted," he said.
