Watch: Lib Dems MPs heckle Farage as he presents ECHR bill
A large number of Lib Dem MPs turned up to oppose Nigel Farage's ten minute rule motion on the UK leaving the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).
Farage told MPs: "We are not sovereign all the while we are part of the ECHR, the European Council and its associated court. It's as simple as that."
Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey opposed the Reform UK leader's proposal, saying the convention "upholds our freedom of speech".
A ten minute rule motion allows a backbench MP to make a case for a new law in a speech lasting up to ten minutes.
The Reform UK leader's motion was defeated by 154 votes to 96.
