CCTV captured the moments a "jealous" man hid behind a car before repeatedly stabbing his pregnant ex-girlfriend.

Daniel Popescu, 29, admitted attempting to murder Andreea Pintili in Aberfan, Merthyr Tydfil, on 5 December 2023, as well as stalking offences.

After lying in wait for Ms Pintili to come home from the school run, Popescu came up behind her and said: "I have a knife and I am going to kill you."

He then repeatedly stabbed her with an 8-inch (20cm) knife before a bystander intervened and he fled.

Popescu has been given a sentence of 17 years and four months and must also serve an additional three years on licence upon his release.
