The cockapoo lifting spirits at a London hospital

Babs and Molly are the perfect duo, visiting Croydon University Hospital each week.

Babs is 85 - Molly, a cockapoo, is four.

They spend time in the stroke and children's wards, where Babs chats with patients while Molly gently rests beside them. Their visits bring comfort, smiles and a welcome distraction from hospital life.

Now, Molly has been shortlisted for a BBC Radio London Make a Difference Award in the animal category - a well-deserved recognition for this special pair.

The BBC Make a Difference Awards are your chance to say "thank you" and show recognition and appreciation for people (and animals!) who make life better for others.

There are eight categories and winners are selected by a panel of judges. Awards are given in each category, across each local BBC radio station.

Nominations for this year have now closed and the list of winners for BBC Radio London will be announced this month.
