Labour candidate says she's been blocked from standing
Faiza Shaheen has told BBC Newsnight that she will not be Labour's candidate in Chingford and Woodford Green, after allegedly liking antisemitic posts on X.
It is understood her candidacy was not endorsed by Labour's National Executive Committee.
Speaking to Victoria Derbyshire, Faiza said she was in a state of shock, after receiving an email telling her candidacy had been blocked.
There are currently known to be six candidates standing in Chingford and Woodford Green: Chris Brody for the Green Party, Josh Hadley for the Liberal Democrats, Yousaff Khan for the Workers Party of Britain, Paul Luggeri of Reform UK, Faiza Shaheen and Iain Duncan Smith of the Conservative Party.
