Horse loose on main road returned to paddock

A horse has been safely returned to its paddock after it was seen running loose on a main road.

Shaheda Moni was in a car with her family driving on the A1114 near the Army and Navy Roundabout in Chelmsford on Thursday afternoon when the animal emerged from trees nearby.

"When the horse came out on to the road from the greenery on the left, we were all shocked and frankly, I was scared," she said.

Essex Police said a member of the public contacted the owner and the horse was returned to its paddock.
