Surprise cows visit gives woman mooving experience

A woman had a surprising wake-up call when she heard noises outside, to then discover a herd of cows staring at her in her garden.

Carrie Herrington, from Chipping Ongar, Essex, has been doing renovations and had a fence panel removed - which created curiosity for the animals grazing in a neighbouring field.

"I was in bed and I thought I can hear something… it was like a grunt. So down I go and I see a cow really close, and they're literally trying to get in the garden," she told BBC Essex.

"I videoed the whole thing, as I do. It's had a lot of views, a lot of comments - wow, we are a cow-loving nation."

She added that fixing her fence panel had moved up her "to do" list.
