Cold water swimmers embrace drop in temperatures

Members of swimming lake say they are "delighted" temperatures have finally dropped, marking the start of the cold water swimming season.

People from the group Diptribe, who swim at South Cerney in Gloucestershire, have been waiting for temperatures to go below 10 degrees celsius, which they say makes the swim more bracing and enjoyable.

Once the temperatures drops below five degrees, it reaches the official temperature for ice swimming.

Paul Flynn from Diptribe said: "You're worries evaporate because all you can think about is surviving the moment."
