You could be forgiven for sometimes thinking that all of the news in London this year has been bad news.

But now and then, a story happens that sparks a smile in the heart of even the most stone-faced Londoner.

So as 2024 comes to a close, we've gone back through the year to find five moments that brought joy to people in the capital.
