‘I left school at 16 to join Scots space race sector’

Deciding to leave school at 16 and enter the world of work could be a daunting prospect.

But after becoming CEO of his own company aged just 23, Oren Smith-Carpenter doesn’t regret a thing.

As an engineer he’s helped build components for rockets that have since left Earth’s atmosphere.

He gives his advice for school leavers looking at a career in one of Scotland’s newest industries.
