'Dave was exactly like the one you saw on TV'

A coastal town is expected to come to a standstill when thousands of bikers descend to honour one of the UK's most famous TV chefs.

One half of cooking duo The Hairy Bikers, Dave Myers died aged 66 on 29 February, two years after revealing he had been diagnosed with cancer.

On Saturday - dubbed Dave Day - bikers and fans are expected to descend on Myers' home town of Barrow-in-Furness.

His widow, Lili Myers, said he was "genuine, full of life and full of energy" and "exactly like the one you saw on TV".
