Awards finalist loves cleaning her city's streets

A woman who helps clean the streets of Hull has been named a finalist in BBC Radio Humberside's Make A Difference Awards.

Now in her 80s, Eileen Harland, has been nominated in the Great Neighbour category for her commitment to tidying the area where she lives off Newland Avenue.

Ms Harland paints over graffiti, sweeps leaves off of the street and gives out veg from her allotment.

"I care about the people who live in this area. I want them to feel happy," she said.
