Watch: Heavy horses help rewild Tooting Common with wildflowers
Heavy horses have been brought to Tooting Common to help prepare the ground for a rewilding project.
Unlike tractors, deploying horses does not compact the soil, making this a more sustainable method.
Their work will allow 33 species of native wildflowers to be planted, helping them compete against the grass.
For local families, it's a chance to see traditional methods in action, while for Wandsworth Council, it's part of a wider environmental strategy to boost biodiversity and create more wild spaces across the borough.
