Hairdresser retires after 60 years in the industry

A hairdresser is closing the doors to her shop for the last time, retiring at the age of 74.

Sandra Handel, from Highbridge in Somerset, began her hairdressing career aged 14 when she was offered a weekend job, in a story originally told to Burnham-on-Sea.com

Thanking her "loyal and wonderful customers" over the years, she added: "That's what it's all about - making people happy."

Ms Handel's hairdressing shop on Market Street, named Sandra, closes on 27 September.
