Officers seize £50k worth of illegal goods in shops
Barnet Council’s Trading Standards officers have seized almost £50,000 worth of goods from shops.
Illegal cigarettes, rolling tobacco, vapes and shisha devices were found across seven different stores in the north London borough.
One store had built a hydraulic lift beneath the shop flooring to house shelves stacked full of illicit cigarettes.
The raids, which were in collaboration with the Met Police, resulted in the seizure of goods worth exactly £47,773.
