1975: Tube crash victims shaken as they recall tragedy

On a cold and wintry morning in 1975, a packed rush-hour Tube train smashed into a dead-end tunnel at Moorgate station.

The front carriage was forced upwards into the tunnel roof, instantly killing the driver, Les Newson, and 42 passengers.

Another 74 people on board were injured.

It remains the worst accident in London Underground history. Investigations later confirmed there was nothing mechanically wrong with the train, leaving the driver's actions as a mystery.

On the day of the crash, BBC News spoke to passengers who experienced the tragedy on 28 February 1975.
