Swiss bagpiper serenades Shetland ponies

An island driver got a surprise when she came across a bagpiper playing to an attentive audience of Shetland ponies.

Janice Priest witnessed the unusual scene while travelling across Unst, in Shetland.

"There's no saying what you'll encounter on the roads in Unst," she said.

"I was on my way along the Hannigarth road and found mares being serenaded by a foreigner playing the bagpipes."

Janice found out the piper was Jacques Ioset from Switzerland.

He told her the mares had crowded right up to him when he started playing.
