Ontario premier: Tariffs could add $100 to US electricity bills
Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced his own tariffs in response to US President Donald Trump's tariffs against Canada. Ford announced a 25% surcharge on electricity exports that will affect 1.5 million homes and businesses across Minnesota, Michigan and New York. Ford said he does not want to do this but "will not hesitate" to increase the charge or to shut off the electricity all together.
