'I wish I would see my family together' Ukrainian tells BBC
A Ukrainian audience member of BBC Question Time has described how her family has been separated due to the war in Ukraine.
Speaking to the programme in a special episode on the war, she responded to a question on whether Ukrainian refugees should be allowed to stay in the UK when the conflict ends.
"I wish I would see my family all together," she said in an emotional moment, adding that her parents "live on the frontline" in an area of Ukraine occupied by Russia.
Many Ukrainian nationals came to the UK after Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022, and they will soon have to apply to extend their visas via the Ukraine Permission Extension Scheme, but the extension does not offer any permanent option to remain.
