Kate in Southport for surprise first public visit since chemo

The Princess of Wales visited Southport for her first official engagement since finishing cancer treatment.

She and the Prince of Wales were due to meet the families of three young girls killed in a knife attack in July.

Royal sources say Catherine decided to join Prince William to show her "support, empathy and compassion to the local community".

The couple spoke to emergency responders who helped at the scene of the attack.
