Fierce tornado sweeps across town in Oklahoma

This is the moment a tornado formed in the town of Arnett in Oklahoma, making it another US state hit by severe weather in the past few days.

Footage caught by storm chasers captured the tornado touching ground and throwing debris across the air.

Much of the state is expected to experience a moderate risk of tornadoes with a severe thunderstorm warning in effect.

Oklahoma is one of many states that has been hit with severe weather that has left 28 people dead in neighbouring states.
