Why RFK Jr wants American cereal to be more Canadian
US Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr on Tuesday announced the US would ban eight commonly used artificial food dyes. Two petroleum-based synthetic dyes would be phased out in the coming weeks, and others by the end of 2026.
Experts have linked the dyes - which are found in dozens of foods, including cereals, candy, snacks and beverages - to neurological problems in some children.
The BBC's reporters Ana Faguy in the US and Nadine Yousif in Canada take a closer look at the difference between Froot Loops cereal made in both countries.
