David Duguid: 'Tories made wrong call dropping me'

Former Scottish Conservative MP David Duguid, who was dropped as a general election candidate on health grounds, has said he would have held his constituency had the party stuck with him as a candidate.

In his first interview since suffering a spinal stroke, the former UK government minister told BBC Scotland News he would have won the seat which Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross lost to the SNP.

He said the decision to allow Mr Ross to stand instead meant the SNP focused more of their efforts on the Aberdeenshire North and Moray East constituency.
