Sunak denies being a liar over Labour tax plans
Rishi Sunak has insisted he stands by his claims about Labour's tax plans, despite criticism of his comments by the UK statistics watchdog. The Office for Statistics Regulation said anyone who hadd heard Mr Sunak claim, in a televised debate this week, that Labour would raise taxes by £2000 per working household would have had no way of knowing the amount would be spread over four years. The most senior civil servant at the Treasury distanced his department from the calculations and Sir Keir Starmer accused Mr Sunak of lying. Speaking to ITV Tonight's Paul Brand, Rishi Sunak denied that he wasn't being transparent with voters.
