'Soldier F trial must proceed without delay'

The brother of a man shot dead during Bloody Sunday has welcomed a judge's ruling that there is sufficient evidence for a former British solider to stand trial for his murder.

William McKinney was killed when soldiers from the Parachute Regiment opened fire on civil rights demonstrators in Londonderry more than 50 years ago.

Thirteen people were shot dead and at least 15 others injured in the Bogside area of the city on 30 January 1972.

Soldier F is accused of two murders and five attempted murders. He denies the charges.

Speaking outside Belfast Crown Court on Friday, Mr McKinney's brother Michael said it was a "good day" for victims.
