Why does Braemar see such low temperatures?
Braemar in Aberdeenshire holds the record for the lowest temperature ever recorded anywhere in the UK.
The temperature hit -27.2C 43 years ago on the 10 January 1982.
With a yellow warning for snow and ice covering the north of the country it is one of the areas where freezing conditions have hit hard.
