Sinn Féin contacts Labour and Social Democrats leaders
Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald has contacted the leaders of the Irish Labour Party and Social Democrats following the results of the general election.
Fianna Fáil is set to be the largest party in the Dáil (lower house of Irish parliament) after Friday's poll.
It is likely the party will enter talks with Fine Gael to form a government, after Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin previously ruled out doing a deal with Sinn Féin.
But Sinn Féin has insisted it will be involved in coalition talks.
On Monday, Dublin Mid-West TD (MP) Eoin Ó Broin told BBC News NI that McDonald had reached out to both the Labour and the Social Democrats leaders about the results.
