Donor in Australia saves cancer patient's life
Alison Belsham had been through five rounds of chemotherapy when she was told her leukaemia had returned.
It was the start of global search for a bone marrow donor as without one the 57-year-old, from Newport, could die.
"It was vitally important that I find a donor because that was what was going to save my life," she said.
On the other side of the world in Australia donor Rachel Rees was located.
But the 31-year-old is not from Australia but originally from about an hour's drive away in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire.
"It was someone literally down the road," Alison said.
