Historian explores east London's retail past

A local historian has been tracing the history of more than 120 shops on an east London street, documenting the changes along the way.

Self-confessed history buff Amir Dotan moved to Stoke Newington in 2002 and has gathered research on Church Street dating back to the 1840s.

He's now written a book about what he's found and how the changing face of retail in Stoke Newington has contributed to its vibrant history.
