Watch: Worker filmed hurling Lime Bikes dismissed

A contractor for the bike rental company Lime has been dismissed after being filmed repeatedly throwing bikes from a van onto the street, leaving several partially damaged.

Footage sent to the BBC shows multiple Lime bikes being thrown from a white van into a dockless bike hire bay in Clapham at 21:05 BST on Wednesday 22 October. Photos taken the following morning showed small parts of the bikes had fallen off.

The person who filmed the incident told the BBC "We get two to four vans a night, up to 1am, even on weeknights. They're often blasting music."

A Lime spokesperson said "This kind of behaviour is totally unacceptable. Our team was alerted to the incident last week and within 24 hours we had confirmation from our third-party contractor that the individual involved was permanently dismissed".

Lambeth Council said it had contacted Lime over the "unacceptable behaviour", adding: "We need providers like Lime to step up and work with us to ensure their fleets are properly managed."
