Disqualified driver leads police on chase
Footage showing a disqualified driver lead police on a chase around part of Nottingham has been released.
Adnan Balloul has been caught driving three times since he was banned from the roads in March 2022 after a string of motoring offences - including driving without a licence and insurance.
The 37-year-old's latest arrest was on 2 June, when police signalled for him to stop while driving through Radford but he refused and sped away.
Balloul, of Canterbury Avenue, Hyson Green, was sentenced to one year in prison at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Friday.
The chase started when police spotted him driving a silver Vauxhall Zafira along Bentinck Road from Birkin Avenue.
Balloul attempted to lose police by driving through Peveril Street, Alfreton Road, and Boden Street, repeatedly breaking the 20mph limit and ignoring road safety, Nottinghamshire Police said.
He finally abandoned the car in Highurst Street before trying to escape on foot.
He was arrested by police a short time later.
Balloul went on to plead guilty to dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance and failing to stop when required by a constable.
He was also disqualified from driving for two years and must pass an extended re-test.
