Call for women to speak before men at meetings

A political scientist has suggested that for at least one day a year men should not be allowed to talk in a meeting unless a woman has expressed her opinion first.

Silja Bara Omarsdottir, an adjunct professor from the University of Iceland, said women tend to wait for their turn to speak, but men do not have these qualms.

If conversations between genders were more balanced, then women's voices could be properly heard, she added.
