Australia: Storms lash state of Victoria

The Australian state of Victoria has been lashed by heavy rain and strong winds after a storm hit the region.

Victoria state's energy minister, Lily D'Ambrosio, said that more than 500,000 homes and businesses were without power after the storm knocked down several towers that were part of the local electricity network.

In video shared on social media, torrential rain can be seen thrashing parts of Melbourne.
