Paris attacks: 'I hid hostages in the freezer'

A 24-year-old Muslim man from Mali says he hid shoppers at a kosher supermarket during an attack in Paris by an Islamist gunman.

Lassana Bathily, a shop assistant who hid several people in the shop's freezer, has now been given French citizenship.

A 300,000 signature petition called on France to give Bathily a French passport as well as the country's highest honour the Legion d'honneur.

Mr Bathily said he hid the customers after he heard the terrorists firing gunshots.
