Belarus protests: Arrests as opposition demonstrations continue

Tens of thousands of people are said to be marching in Minsk and other Belarusian cities, on a fifth Sunday of mass protests.

But police said about 250 arrests had been made ahead of the rally.

The protests have been triggered by a widely disputed election a month ago and subsequent police crackdown.

Demonstrators want President Alexander Lukashenko, in power for 26 years, to resign.
