Guernsey housing licence fees 'may rise'

  • Published

Charges for Guernsey housing licence applications may have to increase in future to cover staffing costs.

Esther Ingrouille, director of Housing Control, said they were looking at ways of covering these additional costs.

She said: "We're not looking at raising fees much above RPI. We haven't increased fees although charging has been in place for more than 12 months.

"We've got some work to do to make sure we're delivering a satisfactory service before we look to increase our fees."

The Housing Department has asked the States for more than £100,000 of extra funding so it can take on three full time staff to help process applications.

It is one of 13 projects that will get funding if States members agree this week.
