Call for more recycling education in Guernsey
- Published
More needs to be done to educate people in Guernsey about what can be recycled, according to an advisory group.
The island's Recycling Advisory Forum said education was necessary in order to increase recycling rates.
Gavin St Pier, from the forum, said 92% of islanders now recycle but there is a lot that people do not realise they can put in recycling bins.
The island recently reached its target to recycle more than 50% of household rubbish.
Mr St Pier said: "I think islanders have got the habit of recycling now.
"But there is a lot of stuff that people still don't realise they can put in the recycling bins and that is a challenge for us in the years ahead."
