Retiring Guernsey Police officers cause staff shortage

  • Published

Guernsey Police is trying to cope with a staff shortage created by a number of officers retiring.

The island's force has launched a recruitment drive but said the shortage was not affecting policing.

There are currently 13 vacancies from the force's full complement of 169 officers.

Tony Moth, training development officer, said: "It can be a rewarding job... there are lots of options once you've finished two years probation."
