Guernsey unemployment reaches 15-year high
- Published
The number of people out of work in Guernsey is at its highest level for about 15 years, according to the States economist.
Social Security figures from February showed 432 people were out of work with 151 working part time and 36 on a training scheme.
The total of 619 people is 1.32% of the island's working population.
Andy Sloan said the last time unemployment was this high was in the mid-1990s.
The figures exclude Alderney, where 43 people, 4.7% of the working population, were out of work last month.
