Guernsey litter campaign targets dog owners

  • Published

Guernsey's environment department is mounting a new campaign to tackle the problem of dog litter in the island.

Signs have been placed on cliff paths and beaches urging islanders to "bag it and bin it".

Environment Services Officer Jan Dockerill said they were taking the initiative because dog mess was a cause of constant complaint.

She said checks of some of the popular dog walking areas had found some dogs owners were "simply not picking up".

Mrs Dockerill said areas where dog mess had been identified as being a problem included Jerbourg, Petit Port, Fort Hommet, Les Banques and Pleinmont.
