Guernsey election results in five female deputies

Five women have been elected to the States of Guernsey, two of them topping the counts in their districts.
Michelle Le Clerc and Heidi Soulsby gained the most votes in the St Peter Port North and South East electoral districts respectively.
The number of elected women means the new assembly will have three fewer female deputies than the current house.
Five of the eight sitting female deputies were seeking re-election, but only Mary Lowe was successful.
Twelve women in total stood as candidates in the 2012 general election.
Michelle Le Clerc said: "I think it is really great two ladies have topped the poll... I would like to have seen more women in there though."
Meanwhile, unsuccessful candidate Janine Le Sauvage said she was shocked not to have been re-elected.
She said: "Heidi [Soulsby] is a good candidate ... I'm pleased as well that one or two others got in in other districts."
