Longue Hougue recycling site reopens after upgrade

Guernsey's main recycling site at Longue Hougue has reopened after a two-week closure.

The yard has been moved a few hundred metres to make room for the building of a new £2m slaughterhouse, to replace the current one in St Peter Port.

Tina Norman-Ross, recycling officer, said: "The main change is that we've broken the site down into different zones and added much better signage."

She said planning permission was being sought to add a covered area.
