Guernsey bus passenger fall blamed on bad weather
- Published
A fall in the number of bus passengers in April, May and June is due to poor weather, according to Guernsey's Environment Department.
Nearly 28,000 fewer passengers travelled in the past three months compared with the same period in 2011, falling from 438,804 to 410,972.
A spokesman said April and June were two of the wettest for many years.
He said: "This has clearly had a detrimental effect on the number of residents and visitors travelling."
The spokesman said the statistics for May, which were only down by 780 passengers, show how levels would have remained largely unchanged had the weather not been so unfavourable.
