Guernsey Electricity central heating leaflet 'not misleading'

  • Published

A complaint alleging that a Guernsey Electricity leaflet was misleading has been rejected by the UK's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).

Guernsey Gas challenged whether a claim in the leaflet, which said electric central heating was a "low-carbon alternative", could be substantiated.

The ASA said figures examining the carbon intensity of electricity on Guernsey were lower than those for gas.

It ruled that on that basis, the advert was "not materially misleading".
