Drivers have complained the new timetable does not allow for breaks and is unpopular

Guernsey bus drivers have called off planned strike action after agreeing terms with the bus operator.

CT Plus said it followed a "cordial meeting" with drivers who accepted that progress had been made on changing working conditions.

Drivers have been working to rule since 11 June, having held a 24-hour strike over working conditions and hours.

The company said it welcomed the news and was continuing work to restore the full timetable from 1 July.

The Unite union, which represents about half of the bus drivers, previously advised members not to stage a strike as the operator had made concessions.

Drivers claimed the schedules, introduced on 12 May, did not allow sufficient time for breaks between journeys.
