Guernsey had its wettest year for more than a decade in 2012, according to Guernsey Water.

The company said more than two fifths of rain fell in the final three months of the year.

The water company's annual report found there was nearly 30% more rainfall than normal, with an unusual pattern over the course of the year.

It said the "extremely wet end" to 2012 left the reservoirs more full than the same time in 2011.

Total rainfall for 2012 was 1049.4mm - up on the 727.5mm of rainfall in 2011.
