The Queen's Commonwealth Games Baton toured Guernsey primary schools on Wednesday.

Guernsey cyclist Karina Bowie accompanied the baton as it travelled round the island.

The baton's tour of the Commonwealth arrived in the Channel Islands on Sunday and was carried into St Aubin in Jersey by diver Tom Daley.

After touring the Bailiwick of Guernsey it will head to the Isle of Man.

The baton toured all except one of Guernsey's schools for special assemblies attended by past and present athletes.

Two pupils from each school acted as baton bearers taking it to the next school.

The baton contains a secret message from the monarch, which will be revealed at the opening of the 2014 Games in Glasgow in July.

On Thursday the baton will leave Guernsey for Alderney where it will head for the island's only school. It will then head to Sark to visit the local parliament and school children.

Finally it will briefly visit Herm where the island's nine children will host an outdoor assembly welcoming the baton.

After the Isle of Man it travels on to Northern Ireland, Wales and England before ending its journey with a 40-day tour of Scotland.
