St Peter Port phone box has defibrillator installed
- Published
A disused phone box in Guernsey has been turned into a potentially life-saving defibrillator station.
The device in Church Square, St Peter Port, gives an electric shock to a person's heart to help normalise its rhythm following a cardiac arrest.
It is the first time a defibrillator has been fitted to a phone box by the Cardiac Action Group charity.
Ambulance staff will talk through instructions for people who dial 999.
Sure Guernsey and the Sure Community Foundation provided the phone box and helped to fund the project.
