Sailings of the Manxman are in doubt through until Sunday

Ferry passengers are facing further travel disruption after severe gales over the Irish Sea led to the cancellation of more sailings.

Evening and overnight services between Douglas and Heysham have been cut by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.

Thursday's daytime crossings have also been pulled with gusts of up to 50mph (80km/h) expected to hit the island.

The ferry firm has also warned all other scheduled journeys until Sunday could be affected.

It follows the resumption of services on Wednesday following the cancellation of Tuesday evening's crossing to Lancashire and its overnight return.

Expected continued blustery conditions have also led to Loganair offering passengers the chance to change their flights on Thursday for no additional fee.

The airline operates several routes to and from the Isle of Man, including regular flights to Liverpool and Manchester.
