Forum co-ordinator to give Jersey charities new voice

  • Published

Charities in Jersey are to be given a stronger voice with the creation of a new forum co-ordinator role.

The new post, funded by the States, involves developing the new Third Sector Forum, which is to help the island's non-profit organisations.

Treasury minister Philip Ozouf said the post would help improve relationships between the States and charities.

The States is giving £120,000 to fund the post and allow the forum to have offices and resources for two years.

The States said the forum was needed because the island did not have an agency dedicated to providing specialist support and advice to non-profit organisations.
